Mother and child, Earth and home

Knowledge of self through knowledge of nature has long been the tradition in Avneet’s family.

From her mother to her, and from herself to her daughter, the generational notion of appreciation, cultivation, and preservation of nature has always been an unforced focus.

Now, the celebration of nature’s gifts is the defining characteristic of Found + Foraged.

The Found + Foraged Origin Story

Avneet is a jewelry designer with more than 15 years experience in the business of running production houses, sourcing ethical materials, and designing collections. With the birth of her daughter, Sasha, 7 years ago, Avneet took time to be Sasha’s full time caregiver and nurtured her daughter’s burgeoning love of natural exploration. Her time with Sasha in nature these past few years has been a huge source of inspiration. Prospect Park and various trips to forests and beaches have always provided the refuge from city life that mother + child needed, and their time in nature became an essential part of their relationship.

A ritual was born, and the habit of searching for and appreciating the ephemeral beauty in nature - a fallen blossom, a dried seed pod, a string of clover flowers knotted into a necklace, became an integral and cherished part of everyday life and lead to this new direction in Avneet’s work - Found + Foraged is a jewelry and home collection designed with modern life in mind, using nature's bounty as a balm for the soul.

Sustainability and stewardship of the environment are top priorities for Avneet, as a mother and designer - being mindful in how we consume and care for the planet. All F+F pieces are made to order, meaning there is no inventory of items and only what is ordered is made, eliminating harmful waste that is often systemic in the design world. F+F uses recycled metals only and all shipping materials are recycled and recyclable with as little paper and marketing collateral as possible. The muslin care bags are hand dyed using natural pigments including turmeric powder, onion skins and avocado skins and are meant to be a re-usable form of storage for your pieces or other personal items.
