Tulip Spoon

$175.00

Big spoon, little spoon.

The spoon is an inevitable symbol of togetherness, as well as an essential symbol of nourishment.

These Found + Foraged hand-sculpted tools were born during our physical isolation, when homeschooling afternoons demanded something more tactile, more productive, and deeply satisfying. Sasha and I would engage in sensory play, and I began to teach her how to sculpt in jewelry wax.

The spoons in this collection are a triumph over our distance, symbols of unity and care. These vessels are functional sculptures, an ideal combination of design and utility, with beauty to feed the creative soul.

This very special spoon was hand sculpted onto the branch of a seedpod from our favorite tulip tree in a secret nook of Brooklyn’s Prospect Park. Cast in yellow brass, the organic handle features a matte brushed finish, juxtaposed with the high shine polish of the bowl as an ode to the cycles of time and change, renewal and decay in nature.

The Tulip spoon is cast in recycled yellow brass. Please contact us for quotes for spoons in sterling silver.

All F+F pieces are MADE TO ORDER and production takes 2-4 business weeks from the date of purchase.

All our metals are lead free and food safe. We work with a casting house that is fully transparent about where they source their metal and we are happy to share the metal alloy breakdown to anyone who would like more information. For more detailed information on how to care for and clean your spoon, please refer to our Care Instructions.

Dimensions - 125mm long from end to end, flower handle 40mm long, flower handle 20-25mm wide, spoon bowl 30mm long, spoon bowl 23mm wide
